Press Release: Summer Reading, Family Programs, and Expanded Hours

Library Highlights Summer Reading, Family Programs, and Expanded Hours

On Tuesdays in July at 2 p.m., the Burlington Public Library is offering a series of free family programs.

  • On July 6, Absolute Science will dazzle with some wild science at the Crapo Park Bandshell.

  • On July 13, join Mike Anderson for a concert at The Port of Burlington.

  • Also at The Port, the Eulenspiegel Puppets will be performing on July 20.

  • An annual favorite, the Blank Park Zoo will bring animals to The Port on July 27.

The library’s annual Summer Reading program continues through August 2. There are programs for all ages: babies/toddlers, children, tweens, teens, and adults. Those who register can enter drawings and earn weekly reading incentives. For the full calendar of events and more information on summer reading, stop by the youth desk in the library or go to www.burlington.lib.ia.us.

The library is now open from 9-8 on Mondays-Thursdays and 9-5 on Fridays and Saturdays. The Friends of the Library Footnotes bookstore is open Mondays-Saturdays from 10-4.
