Your library gives you the ability to do all these activities to make your life easier and more fun.
| Search the Catalog online or at the library. Access databases from anywhere you have Internet access. By using your library card number, you can search EBSCOHost for magazines, HeritageQuest for genealogy and local history sources, and NoveList for your next good book. Renew books, see what you have out and when it’s due, and put your name on a waiting list for a book by using the My Account feature. Attend children’s storytimes to listen, sing, dance, play, and learn. Enjoy special performances by musicians, jugglers, magicians, and guest storytellers. Earn prizes by joining in reading programs. Come to adult and young adult programs on topics from crafts to prairies. Ask us about materials that the library doesn’t have; we’ll try to get them for you. Have books delivered to your home by members of the Burlington Chapter of Altrusa International. This program is for those who are physically unable to visit the library themselves. Thanks to Altrusa, the library has been offering this service for over 50 years. To request local delivery once every three weeks, call 319-753-1647.

Check the Community Calendar for upcoming library events and other events throughout the area. Request a tour, presentation, storytime, or special programming for your group. Reserve the meeting room for your group. Join in reading discussion series. Past topics have included Iowa history, mystery writers, community development, and women authors. Use Open Access privileges to check out books at most libraries in Iowa while you are away from home on business or fun. Alert librarians to class assignments.
