In addition to providing financial assistance with the basic
needs as food assistance, financial help, rental assistance,
utility assistance & county burial, we also ssist veterans
with applying for any type of government pension or compensation
they might be eligible for. Help them get to Iowa Veterans Home,
help them secure any type of military records they might need,
help with getting head stones, travel to Iowa Vets Hospital,
home loans, education benefits, getting into nursing homes,
etc.

The Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System
is a comprehensive tertiary health care center, teaching hospital,
and research facility. Referrals are accepted from VA Medical
Centers throughout the nation for complex diagnostic and treatment
modalities. The Iowa City facility is known for a wide range
of specialized medical programs. It has a strong and effective
affiliation with the University of Iowa College of Medicine.
The Medical Center operates 83 beds, including 43 medicine/neurology
beds, 25 surgery, and 10 intensive care beds, and 15 psychiatry
beds. The Medical Center operates seven community based
outpatient clinics in Bettendorf, Waterloo, Dubuque, Cedar
Rapids, and Ottumwa, Iowa; and Galesburg and Quincy, Illinois.
The Medical Center also operates a satelite outpatient clinic
in Coralville, Iowa.
