Instructional Services staff members provide quality leadership and services, through partnerships that support efforts to improve the achievement of every learner. Individual areas include: • Curriculum development and integration • Consultative services for math, reading & science • Professional Development & learning • Environmental education • Inservice assistance • Media/Library services • Print/ Production • Assessment services • Technology support & service • Research, planning, development and evaluation • School-community planning • Student activities Special Education staff members provide services for individuals from birth to age 21 which allow them to become active participants in their own environment. This is accomplished through the following services: • Speech and language • Hearing/Audiology services • Psychology • School social work • Early childhood/at risk • Special education consultation • Transition services • Visually impaired • Autism resource • Assistive technology • Occupational & Physical Therapy Services for Birth-21 years
Great Prairie Area Education Agency is one of 9 Area Education Agencies created in 1974 by the Iowa legislature to ensure equal educational opportunities for all children from birth through age 21. support to local schools is provided through two service areas: Instructional Services and Special Education.
