Brick work has begun on the south and east sides of the building.

The glu-lams are here. You might ask, what is a glu-lam? A glu-lam is made of pieces of wood glued together. Each beam weighs approximately 5 1/2 tons. The worker below is readying a beam to be lifted into place.


The process of lifting a beam into place is shown in the following pictures.

 

These cranes will assist in lifting the beams into place.

 

 

 

 

When all the beams have been put in place, they will be visible from inside the library.
